A milestone for SSC -
from local concept to global motorsport publication

Picture

After months of development, refinement, formatting, testing, printing, and platform integration, Supersede Control – A Mind At Speed is now officially available internationally through the Lulu global bookstore.

What began as an exploration into performance driving philosophy has evolved into a fully published and globally accessible motorsport title.

The book examines the deeper structure behind high-performance driving — vision, anticipation, integration, rhythm, cognitive processing, emotional control, and the mental architecture required to operate consistently at speed.

Rather than presenting driving as a collection of isolated techniques, Supersede Control approaches performance driving as an integrated mental discipline.

The international release represents an important milestone for SSC and opens worldwide access to readers interested in:

Performance driving
Motorsport psychology
Driver development
Track driving philosophy
High-performance mental processing
Advanced driving structure and control

International print fulfillment is now available through the Lulu bookstore platform.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the project throughout its development.

This is only the beginning of what SSC is building.

ssc Written in just Two Months?

2/4/2026

Supersede Control was not written in two months.

It was written over thirty years.

The two months were simply when the structure was put on paper.

The thinking behind it — the observations, the mistakes, the corrections — took decades.
Lap after lap.

Session after session.

Understanding built slowly, often without knowing it was being built.

Most drivers accumulate experience.
Very few extract anything from it.

They drive.
They repeat.
They improve slightly.

But they never stop to define what is actually happening.

Supersede Control came from doing exactly that.

Breaking driving down.
Questioning inputs.
Understanding cause and effect.

Why the car behaves the way it does.
Why mistakes repeat.
Why progress stalls.

Over time, patterns emerge.
Not opinions. Not theories.
Patterns.

Things that happen consistently — regardless of car, driver, or circuit.
That is where structure begins.

Once the structure is clear, writing becomes simple.

You are no longer trying to “create content”.
You are documenting what already exists.

That is why the book came together quickly.
Not because it was rushed --
but because it was ready.

Two months to write.
Thirty years to understand.

And that is the difference.
Between information
and knowledge.

Supersede Control is not a fixed model.

It continues to evolve through observation, coaching, and application.

Certain patterns remain consistent.
Others only become visible over time.

As more drivers are observed under different conditions,
the structure becomes clearer — and occasionally needs to be adjusted.

The work is therefore ongoing.

Not in search of new ideas,
but in refining what is already there.

    Author

Pierre Martins has spent years working within motorsport as both a driver and coach.

His focus has been on understanding how performance is built — not only through technique, but through awareness, experience, and control.

Supersede Control is the result of that work.
